SA Silver Misty might be a touch 'primitive' by the current alpaca standards, but she makes up for it with her personality, curiosity and her lovely fleece. She won't be winning any awards these days, but for handspinning, her fleece is lovely, allowing someone to pick their colors if necessary or blend it all for a stunning roving or shaded felting project (smoke on smoke cloak perhaps?)

Misty is an extremely laid back personality in the herd, always first at the fence to see what's going on, with her tiny white topknot that looks as if she's got bed head all day long. She has a very dainty step and enjoys her status as a 'color misfit', and is always identified by people wanting to know her color and touch her

Misty is going to be my experiment; after years of handling gray sheep fleeces and their obvious genetic outcomes from breeding decisions, I'm trying my first gray alpaca in the herd. We'll see how I survive with not going batty trying to figure out gray genetics (maybe I should buy a pair of dice now to make it easier?) Misty may be our first and only gray, time will tell how I adjust, me, not her...she's happy with her companions

Misty has been accidentally bred to Stillmeadow Farm Jameson with a fall 2021 cria due

As of April 18, Misty has a micron of 18.5 for 2019-2020 (done on a private micron machine)
