Snowmass Island Saphire is the half-sister of our herdside, Snowmass Blue Luxury, and she was born the following year (2016). She is a bit closer to true black on her blanket, but with hints of brown along her belly and legs, hence she is listed as bay black/true black
She has a gorgeous head, fantastic conformation and a very curious nose that cautiously wants to sniff things, especially if you're turned from her and she can do a sneak-up sniff on your butt. Saphire is one of the most curious alpacas we have on the farm, always wanting to know what you're doing, what's happening, and she's always the first at the fence, trying to sniff the crows and hawks that perch there. She is also one of the first to sound the alarm in the herd if a life-shattering intruder such as the lawn mower enters the pen, and for a watch alpaca, she's our best for when it comes to keeping an eye on everyone
